The Hop Ice Cream has been an Asheville Institution since its opening in 1978. It specializes in handcrafted dairy and vegan ice cream with imaginative and locally-influenced flavors at its 4 retail locations. Current owners, Ashley and Greg Garrison, have been with the business for 20 years, and owners for 15. The menu features classic milkshakes, sundaes, desserts, and made-from-scratch waffle cones. The Hop also shares space at 640 Merrimon Avenue with Pop Bubble Tea, a partnership between the Garrison's longtime friend from Hong Kong, Eva Peterson. Pop creates authentic, high-quality, Taiwanese-style Bubble Tea with hundreds of drink combinations to choose from. Both The Hop and Pop are devoted to supporting this amazing community and love working with other businesses, people and organizations to uplift folks in WNC.
