“Some of the best food in Asheville”
Reviewed February 19, 2012 by a local
My partner and I are Mexican-food junkies- and once we find 'our place' it is hard to go elsewhere. We went to Bandidos last night and had one of the best meals since moving here to Asheville. Both of us got the Chipotle Steak tacos and they were fabulous. The chipotle seasoning was perfection. We got yucca, corn & bean salad and plantains as our sides (taco plates come with 1 side... so we ordered an extra). All were good but the plantains were OUT OF THIS WORLD. When we complemented them on the food, they said that they get about 10 people/day raving about the plantains... they are THAT good. For such a small little restaurant, they have a great microbrew selection. Their salsa selection is great too. If you are into spicy, try the Roasted Apricot/Scotch Bonnet or the Cranberry Scotch Bonnet salsas. You can't get much better than this.
