"I wasn't so sure about driving to Hendo for soul food when there are so
many good places in Asheville, but I was wrong! Definitely worth it! We
just ate there for Sunday lunch and since the buffet was available, why
not? It just means I can try more, right!? The
highlights for me were first and foremost the fried porkchops! Stop the
press, I said fried porkchops ... and WOW were they good! I couldn't
eat just one. Yep, I went back and ate round two as well. Along
with the chops I loved the mac & cheese, we're still debating about
what you added to it for that little extra YUM. Then there was also the
beans and collards and fried chicken and the dessert - cobbler -
home-made cobbler! This is a must have for all soul food lovers in the area!"

"Wonderful food I had the Dark Chicken, Collards, Black Eye Peas with Corn Bread. This is one
of this area's hidden secrets. Tucked on 7th Ave just below the Bus
Station. I was telling my friend that this brings me back to my
childhood days in SE Georgia. My bud had Fried Chicken white meat FF and
Mac and Cheese he said it was the best M&C he has ever had. Give
